Wahu Mobility has officially launched the Wahu Hero App, a first-of-its-kind digital platform designed to simplify and unify the electric vehicle ownership experience across the continent.

With a mission to make it easier to “Be in Africa and Go Electric,” Wahu’s new mobile app allows users to do more than just purchase an electric bike. It connects riders and drivers to everything they need in one place—flexible payment options, charging and battery swap stations, spare parts, maintenance tools, and even safety and mobility management features. Additionally, its open APIs enable seamless integration with partners, including energy companies and fintech platforms.

Since the beta rollout, the app has already recorded over 3,000 downloads, connecting EV users, financiers, utilities, and mobility marketplaces.

Electric vehicles are better for the environment, but many people in Africa find them challenging to use due to issues such as high costs, limited charging points, and restricted access to parts and repairs. Wahu’s new app brings everything—buying, payments, charging, maintenance—into one place. It makes EVs easier to own and manage, especially for delivery riders and small businesses. This can help more people switch from fuel-powered vehicles to cleaner, cheaper electric ones.
